Our class pet!
This is Speedy! He is a desert tortoise and loves to eat lettuce. He also walks laps all day while the students learn fun and exciting things in Mr. Helmer's classroom.
Each week, a student is responsible for cleaning Speedy's cage and feeding him. All the students enjoy watching Speedy and learning how to care for a desert tortoise!

Welcome Howlers!
Welcome to Mr. Helmer's class! This year is going to be a spectacular year. Spelling and vocabulary tests are done each week. Reading logs are due on Mondays, the minimum requirement is 30 minutes each night.
We have a class pet this year. His name is Speedy and he is a desert tortoise. He enjoy's eating lettuce and likes to race around his aquarium... that's how he got his name!
Mrs. Helmer is also looking forward to this school year. She enjoys coming to the classroom to help with parties and collecting homework.
